Why did you make Picklemix?

Picklemix started as a hobby project and a belief that structured play could be more fun than open play. I wrote and tested about 40 event types in Google Sheets and Microsoft Access with MySQL as the back end database because I knew I eventually wanted to learn how to make a decent web interface. It was a proof of concept in some ways and an opportunity to see if I could develop the UI with modern tools. The early versions of double elimination were my favorites as they were primative and pattern based and not very dynamic, but getting them to work at all was very rewarding. ces.
